2. Based in Tampa, FL, King of Spain is the solo-project of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Matt Slate. His debut full-length "Entropy" (out on New Granada Records) features a stirring array of well-crafted songs that tend to lean towards the experimental side (i.e. found sounds, home-made percussion intruments, and unique song structures) while maintaining a certain level of pop-sensibility. Matt Slate has another current project called FACE! It is primarily an outlet for more experimental electro-acoustic work and is influenced by everything from ambient electronica and minimal techno to noise and the early electronic works of artists like Terry Riley and Phil Niblock.
